# Instagram

> Instagram is watched, not connected: no login or install. Watch a partner's handle or give a campaign a hashtag and MISSIN collects their public posts.

Instagram is watched, not connected. Add the brand profiles you care about and MISSIN collects their public posts for attribution — no login, no permission from the account, nothing installed.

Profiles refresh on a schedule. Auto sync refreshes a profile more often, and uses more credits doing it.

## Setup

1. Integrations > Instagram (https://app.missin.co.uk/v1/integrations/instagram): There is nothing to connect. Add the Instagram profiles you want watched under Watched profiles.

## Manage connection

Integrations > Instagram (https://app.missin.co.uk/v1/integrations/instagram) lists the watched profiles. Auto sync on a profile refreshes it more often and uses more credits.

## Requested permissions

Nothing. Instagram is not connected to an account, so there is nothing to authorise.

Nothing is connected for Instagram: no login, no install, and nobody grants MISSIN access. MISSIN reads what is already public.

Public posts are collected for two things:

- **A partner's Instagram handle.** Add the handle to the partner and turn on watching for it.
- **A campaign hashtag.** Turn on the hashtag's fetch and MISSIN searches Instagram for posts that carry it, including posts from accounts you never signed.

Each collected post is checked against your campaigns and filed under the one it matches. Collecting uses credits.
